DSB
During my time as a Creative Lead at Sonic Minds, one of the most fun projects was working with DSB, the Danish national railway company, on both their audio identity and application sounds. This included audio logos, music track for commercials, UI sounds for their app and more.
Let’s dig into it!
Co-Designing UI
Sound Design
Sounds were designed using elements similar or identical to the original audio logo. This was done to have brand consistency throughout the entire DSB soundscape.
All sounds were designed to be friendly and informative, even with sounds that highlighted system or user errors. This was done in order to make sure that the users didn’t feel responsible for things going wrong, instead focusing on guiding them towards a solution.
During the process of creating the UI sound, we employed a deep co-design methodology, focusing on including DSB every step of the way and giving them a lot of control of what the sounds needed to do, and how they should sound.
We did so through iterative workshops, focusing on functionality and aesthetics - all while making sure that it all fit the DSB brand as much as possible.
